Like this!!! These tiles will be used for floors, as well as some wall builds. This is because the unfinished surface gets hidden. These tiles are also used where rooms connect to each other.

The plan on the HirstArts website calls for thirty-three of the 3″ blocks. Simply put together two blocks that are 1.5″.

The plan calls for so many 3″ blocks, another alternative is to use one 1″ block and one 2″ block.

Viola. Just make sure the seams don’t line up vertically, and it will look great.

For the Tree Circle in the middle of the courtyard, use these large 1.5″ arches…

Lay out all your blocks before starting. Using full blocks gives you straighter walls. Don’t glue together two rubble blocks to build your walls. Use sandpaper or a file and lightly scrape off any flashing. Getting rid of those horizontal lines from the edge of the mold is one of the keys to an attractive build.

When building the staircase, you’ve got enough blocks to make two versions: use Smooth Edge 1/2 x 1 x 1/4″ blocks, which make it nice and straight, or use the rubble blocks for a jagged look…
