Lay out all your blocks before starting. Using full blocks gives you straighter walls. Don’t glue together two rubble blocks to build your walls. Use sandpaper or a file and lightly scrape off any flashing. Getting rid of those horizontal lines from the edge of the mold is one of the keys to an attractive build.
When building the staircase, you’ve got enough blocks to make two versions: use Smooth Edge 1/2 x 1 x 1/4″ blocks, which make it nice and straight, or use the rubble blocks for a jagged look…
